GLENN: Are you going to be the person that was freaking out like all of us were on September 11th, or are you going to be the person that you were on September 12th. If you choose to be the September 12th person, there are things that you can do, and I just want you to ponder these things. We'll send these out in our newsletter today, but here they are as I see them, and I will expand on them in the coming days and I will help you do these things after the new year, but you have to decide whether or not you are going to be a part of the solution or part of the problem.

So the first thing you have to do is become informed on socialism and communism and fascism, and the free market, Americanism. Who are we? Become informed on the Constitution. That is really just mind bleeding, boring stuff, I know. But I will help you do it in the coming months, I will. And I'll try to make it as entertaining as I possibly can, and I'm trying to work on some things that we can send out to you in the newsletter and everything else, and I've got a few ideas that I think will really help you, and it will be homework but isn't our country worth it? Aren't our children worth doing a little homework?

The first thing you could do, please, is get the 5,000 Year Leap. Over my book or anything else, get the 5,000 Year Leap. You can probably find it in the book section of GlennBeck.com, but read that. It is the principle. It is so easy to read. It's the book Ronald Reagan wanted taught in high schools and Ted Kennedy stopped it from happening. That should tell you all you need to know. It is so easy to understand. When you read these principles, your mouth will fall open. You'll read it and you'll be -- the scales will fall off your eyes on who we are. Please, number one thing: Inform yourself about who we are and what the other systems are all about. 5,000 Year Leap is the first part of that. Because it will help you understand American free enterprise. You'll be able to defend it. You'll be able to know what makes it possible for 6% of humanity living under our free economy to produce 1/2 of the Earth's developed wealth every single year. That's staggering! What is it? It's the virtues and the principles that our founders believed in, that took us and pushed us and made us -- allowed us to take a 5,000 year leap from the dark into the sunshine. We should know why collectivism is wrong. We should know why federal supervision is going to hold our standard of living down. It will reduce our productivity, just as it has in every single country where it has ever been tried. We should know why communist leaders of the past considered socialism the high road to communism. We should know the words of the old communist leaders that said "We don't need to fight a war. We can push them into socialism and once we have them into socialism, communism is next." We should see and read the actual words of the early 20th century American Progressives and see the roots.

How many times have you asked yourself, how did this happen to us, how did we get here? Well, I began asking myself that three years ago when I started doing my homework, and I know. And because I know, I know it can be stopped! It's not a mystery! Read Jonah Goldberg's book Liberal Fascism. Those two things.

Then you need to reconnect with God if you haven't already. Even the very elect are going to be deceived. We need to reunite with God and listen to his promptings. We need to be so clear inside that we're just, we turn our lives over to whatever you want. "Just help me, tell me where to stand and I'll stand there. I don't care. It's not about me. I'll do the hard things. You got it. I'll do it." Be George Washington. George Washington didn't want to serve. Serve. Serve. Know that God's plan is always one where you have the choice. That's the whole thing with God. He allows you to make the choice. So if we get our rights from God and we're trying to do things like he would want us to do, we should have a government that allows you to have as much freedom as possible. The American public should be able to choose on their own. Anybody who's trying to limit your choices, that is not the system. Reconnect with the values of God and listen to the promptings of the spirit. Get involved with your church, then stand guard in your own community. The small scale, think small. Don't think big. Think small. Get involved in your school, in your churches. Do not sit down. Do not take a seat in the back of the bus. Sit at the counter. Risk peacefully, risk. Make a commitment over the next couple of weeks that you will be a September 12th, you will stand while everyone else is afraid to because it takes one. I again preface and put in the middle and put at the end peace, peace, peace. If anything is leading you to pick up a gun or grab a bag of fertilizer, you are a problem. That is not the solution.

Then -- and this one's hard for us because we've been trained not to do this now. Help those people who have been deceived or misinformed find the truth. That's why I've been saying for the last couple of months, your word must be unwavering. People must be able to trust you. Let your word be your bond. Never pass around these stupid e-mails that always come in because most of them are wrong. Do your own research. Do your own homework. Know what the truth is. And only spread the truth because there's going to be a lot of half truths that are spoken and you've got to know who to count on. Let people be able to count on your word. Don't make the mistakes -- and again this is hard because this is not what we're being trained to do. Don't make the mistake of calling people who disagree with you un-American. They are not un-American. They just disagree with what America should look like. You reeducate them on what our country means, what it has meant. What our founders really, truly said. The 5,000 Year Leap is a treasure trove of quotes. It's unbelievable. The Real George Washington, the Real Thomas Jefferson, the Real Ben Franklin, those three books as well, you'll find them on my website. A treasure trove of stuff that will boggle your mind that it hasn't been printed in a textbook. Let those words speak for you. Let people see what it really is. Don't call them anti-American because it only polarizes us more. Some people have just been duped. Some people just don't know. Most people just hadn't heard that. Really? That can't be true. Yes, it is. So help them. Don't waste time on those who are dead set. Know exactly what they are doing because there are some Progressives that really do want to have a socialist system. Well, that's fine. They are not un-American. They just view America a different way, and we are on opposing sides. If you are part of a political party, you do everything you can. You make sure that that party is preserving freedom and preserving what you know to be true in the Constitution. Make that dedication of becoming a September 12th person and I will help you do it next year.

Gen. Tommy Franks says that if the United States is hit with a weapon of mass destruction that inflicts large casualties, the Constitution will likely be discarded in favor of a military form of government.
Franks, who successfully led the U.S. military operation to liberate Iraq, expressed his worries in an extensive interview he gave to the men’s lifestyle magazine Cigar Aficionado.

In the magazine’s December edition, the former commander of the military’s Central Command warned that if terrorists succeeded in using a weapon of mass destruction (WMD) against the U.S. or one of our allies, it would likely have catastrophic consequences for our cherished republican form of government.

Discussing the hypothetical dangers posed to the U.S. in the wake of Sept. 11, Franks said that “the worst thing that could happen” is if terrorists acquire and then use a biological, chemical or nuclear weapon that inflicts heavy casualties.

If that happens, Franks said, “... the Western world, the free world, loses what it cherishes most, and that is freedom and liberty we’ve seen for a couple of hundred years in this grand experiment that we call democracy.”

Franks then offered “in a practical sense” what he thinks would happen in the aftermath of such an attack.

“It means the potential of a weapon of mass destruction and a terrorist, massive, casualty-producing event somewhere in the Western world – it may be in the United States of America – that causes our population to question our own Constitution and to begin to militarize our country in order to avoid a repeat of another mass, casualty-producing event. Which in fact, then begins to unravel the fabric of our Constitution. Two steps, very, very important.”

Franks didn’t speculate about how soon such an event might take place.

Already, critics of the U.S. Patriot Act, rushed through Congress in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, have argued that the law aims to curtail civil liberties and sets a dangerous precedent.

But Franks’ scenario goes much further. He is the first high-ranking official to openly speculate that the Constitution could be scrapped in favor of a military form of government.

We all know economic depression here, and some of us have an inkling about what is coming. The governments vacillate between spewing gloom and doom and ridiculous ‘happy fun clown time’ gibberish at the great unwashed masses depending upon whether they want fools to buy into the stock market at that particular time to make certain fat cats even richer, or they want those fools to sell and lose almost everything.

The housing bubble has been popped, the stock market is crashing and pensions are being siphoned off minute by minute. It’s clear that gold is being manipulated at the same time the dollar is going down. The contortionate “credit instruments” and exotic book-keeping (what an oxymoron that is) methods of investment houses, bankers and large businesses have all happened in a top-down way on purpose. The more they ripped off the little guy the bigger their commission and bonus; it is a system that thrives, indeed lives off of insatiable greed. And the monsters near the top aren’t sweating one bit. They know what is happening and they know what is coming next.

The fiat currency house of cards is tumbling down because the international bankers just exhaled a puff of the expensive smoke from their Cuban Cohiba Behike cigar and blew on it. In other words, it was planned. It is time now for the next phase of their plan.

It’s high time someone put it all together, without focusing on individual trees. There is a reason that the system was set up this way; there is a reason why home loans were offered to folks who couldn’t possibly pay them back and there is a reason why this all happening.

Put succinctly, this is all part of the Agenda 21 plan. Look closely at the map and notice just how much land area are “little or no human activity” zones. Notice how the small towns have disappeared and there are only major cities with specific travel corridors between them. That’s right, losing your job, your house, your land is part of their plan. NAFTA, CAFTA and GATT were part of this plan were enacted to get rid of the American manufacturing base and all the associated jobs. Without a home (or any viable housing options), a job and food, you have no other choice but to go where those necessities are located: the city.

The massive migration to the cities. The documents state in no uncertain terms that they “predict” (read: plan) class warfare (.pdf) as the middle class disappears and most will be reduced to abject poverty in said swelling cities. The documents and articles explain that the “bio-fuel” scam will wreak havoc with the world’s food supply, that GMO crops lead to less yield and that the uber rich are going to have to hide for a while to escape the hordes of angry, hungry and dirty people.

Realize that when one takes out a home loan, the bank actually owns the house until it’s completely paid off. If a mortgage isn’t paid, possession reverts to the banks. Only the wealthy are able to buy property at this time, and they certainly don’t want your three bedroom 2.5 bath brick rambler. This begs the question - what will be done with all these vacant houses?

Logic dictates that they must be rendered unusable. Most likely they will be stripped of copper and condemned and later bulldozed. They can’t have any “non-cooperative human subjects” fleeing the stinking cesspit cities for the fresh air of the country, now can they? They will have to render all repossessed houses unlivable in the “little or no human activity” zones.

Concomitant to the orchestrated mortgage meltdown, there is the Orwellian-sounding planned “credit crunch” - meaning that businesses who operated on the knife-edge and had to use credit to continue operating day-to-day are no longer able to get the credit they require. No more ships bringing in goods, truckers able to deliver goods, employers able to pay employees. The domino effect which we have begun to see will enlarge to horrific corporations, rendering those crappy burger-flipping jobs an enviable situation, except that people won’t even be able to afford those crappy burgers. Grocery stores run completely out of stock in three days; without stock being brought to them by trucks, it makes for a desperate situation and desperate people.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Without jobs, no one can consume, without consumption the entire US economy collapses. The US government is in the process of defaulting on it’s debts - SmartMoney.com said, “short-term Treasury yields actually turned negative.” The US Dollar will have to be demonetized at some point in 2009 which will instantly render all paper currency worldwide totally valueless. With empty grocery stores and no means of exchange, there will be food riots very quickly. Be assured that power companies, television and cable will still be working at that time, even though other business will not be. This is important to the plan because everyone will be glued to their “tee-vee” waiting for Mother Government to tell them what is going on and what they should do. And the New World Order plan will shift into high gear at that point.

Local representatives of Mother Government will announce that all hungry, desperate people should all go quietly and calmly to the nearest school, community center or some other large place and Mother Government will “help” them, feed them and their children. This, of course, will be the pick up points to transport people to FEMA camps (all 1400 of them) so they can be ‘taken care of’ and provided with the things they need. Here is the document that says exactly how people will be processed in. Here is the list of Executive Orders allowing the President to nix the Constitution, suspend the Congress and institute Martial Law, separate families, remove entire communities, take possession of all communication, food sources, water supplies and so on. And woe unto you if you have a skill that would be helpful to Mother Government! You can be conscripted, without remuneration and they don’t have to return you. How is that for an employer from hell?

After most hungry and scared sheeple obey the talking head on the “tee-vee” and go willingly to the camps, there will be some who have heeded the advice and taken steps necessary to provide emergency food, buy guns and ammunition and safety gear for themselves and their families. These hold-outs will be problematic for Mother Government and the New World Order plan. Rest assured that as people are processed into the camps and their information entered into the IRIS system, it will be checked against the consolidated databases and the hold-out’s names will be noted. Remember, once Martial Law is declared due to the emergency of dollar demonetization, there is no more Constitution, there are no more rights. Hold-outs will be considered enemies of the State.

When most Americans are ’safely’ within the clutches of FEMA, the squalid conditions, lack of medication, forced vaccinations, and sub-standard, irradiated and non-nutritive food will cause many deaths, but that’s fine because it is further depopulation. More people dead = less slaves to manage. Some will be assigned to work crews to demolish the abandoned and repossessed houses in the “no human activity zones,” others will be working on the cities for the massive influx of slaves [EO 1104], once the work is done and the controllers are ready to repopulate the cities.

Mother Government has an electronic dossier on each person containing any and all information obtainable - that given willingly to Mother Government and that gleaned from extensive data-mining operations, legal and illegal. It contains not only school and medical records, travel, employment and purchasing history, social network, communications, your political leanings and everything else they can get their hands on, and it all adds up to your “data double” for which they run algorithms to figure out your personality, and mental and emotional state. It contains everything there is to know about you that they can obtain, and they think they know you. With this information, they run simulations to determine what your reaction will be to any given stimulus, and the reaction of others with a similar profile, to determine the best way to eliminate you.

With extensive satellite and land-based surveillance, smart dust and other technologies, they will be able to determine where the hold-outs are, and with the results of their simulations, the best way to mitigate the trouble a hold-out may cause. This will include massive aerial spraying in order to sicken hold-outs, ruin crops and kill livestock not already in the hands of Mother Government. There will be no mercy, as those who think for themselves and truly value freedom are the most dangerous to their plan.

But do no forget that more people are waking up every day due to the dedicated and dynamic efforts of Patriots everywhere; and there are many, many more of us than there are of them. If we redouble our efforts at education (especially of law enforcement and military) and preparation, we have a real chance at not only slowing down the nefarious New World Order plan, but stopping it. Only five per cent of the population fought the British in the Revolutionary war - the colonists were out-gunned, out-manned and out-spent, but their determination to be free outweighed everything that was thrown at them. What we face is a much greater tyranny and truly diabolical people who are bent on the near destruction of the human race.

This is a hellish, nightmarish scenario, but if one reads the documents the plan is laid bare for all to see. Time is very, very short, and those who understand must do everything in their power to educate others and prepare for what is coming. If you don’t take care of yourself, Mother Government will.

Alternative Currencies Grow in Popularity

Most of us take for granted that those rectangular green slips of paper we keep in our wallets are inviolable: the physical embodiment of value. But alternative forms of money have a long history, and appear to be growing in popularity. It's not merely barter, or primitive means of exchange like, say, seashells or beads. Beneath the financial radar, in hip U.S. towns or South African townships, in shops, markets, and even banks, throughout the world people are exchanging goods and services via thousands of currency types that look nothing like official tender.

Alternative means of trade often surface during tough economic times. "When money gets dried up and there are still needs to be met in society, people come up with creative ways to meet those needs," says Peter North, a senior lecturer in geography at the University of Liverpool, author of two books on the subject. He refers to the "scrips" issued in the U.S. and Europe during the Great Depression that kept money flowing, and the massive barter exchanges involving millions of people that emerged amidst runaway inflation in Argentina in 2000. "People were kept from starving [this way]," he says. (Find out 10 things to do with your money.)

Closer to home, "Ithaca Hours," with a livable hourly wage as the standard, were launched during the 1991 recession to sustain Ithaca, New York's local economy and stem the loss of jobs. "Hours," which are legal and taxable, circulate within the community, moving from local shop to local artisan and back, rather than "leaking" out into the larger monetary system. The logo on the Hour reads: "In Ithaca We Trust".

Alternative (or "complementary") currencies range from quaint to robust, simple to high-tech. There are "greens" from the Lettuce Patch Bank at the Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage in rural Northeastern Missouri. In Western Massachusetts one finds fine-artist-designed BerkShares, which are convertible to U.S. dollars. According to Susan Witt, Executive Director of the E.F. Schumacher Society (the nonprofit behind the currency) more than $2 million in BerkShares "have been issued through the 12 branches of five [local] banks." And in South Africa, proprietary software keeps track of Community Exchange System (CES) "Talents"; one ambitious plan is to make Khayelitsha, a vast, desolate township of perhaps a million inhabitants near Cape Town, a self-sustaining community.

The currencies are generally used in conjunction with conventional money, as in using local currency at the farmer's market and regular greenbacks at the supermarket. "It doesn't try in any way to replace cash," says Christoph Hensch, a Swiss national and former banker now living in Christchurch, New Zealand. Rather, it offers a way "for people to share and redeem value they have in the community." He says the currencies are most useful in geographical areas or social sectors where money doesn't flow sufficiently, citing for example New Zealand's Golden Bay, which is so remote that it sometimes nearly functions as its own economy.

Advocates of alternative currencies say that they are a means of empowerment for those languishing on the margins of fiscal life, granting economic agency to people like the elderly, disabled, or under-employed who have little opportunity to earn money. For example, in some systems one can "bank" Time Dollars for tasks like childcare and changing motor oil. It's not whether you're employed or what financial assets you have that matter, says Les Squires, a consultant on social networking software who has been working with groups developing alternative currencies. Each person has "value" which is "exchangeable" based on time spent or a given task.

Alternative currency comes in many forms. In addition to time banking, there are Local Exchange Trading Systems (LETS), systems of mutual credit that vary by location. This model was developed by Michael Linton in Canada, though it seems mostly to have taken off in the British Isles; an estimated 40,000 people in the U.K. use these for at least some transactions. Similarly, the Community Exchange System (CES) is an online money and banking system and trading marketplace that tracks credits and debits. While LETS's function as clubs that set their own guidelines, CES is administered through an online program that connects local groups to create a global network. The CES website points to more than 100 exchanges in fifteen countries. According to Squires, the Internet has made alternative forms of exchange more viable, as databases can keep account of credits. In the rarified world of monetary theory, think-tanks are abuzz with ideas about future forms of money. One visionary, Jean-Francois Noubel, the co-founder of AOL-France, foresees "millions of free currencies circulating on the Net and through our cell phones" as money follows the distribution path that media has over the last decade. Bernard Lietaer, a Belgian economist and author who helped develop the Euro, has proposed the "Terra," a transnational currency backed by established commodities that would co-exist with conventional notes, the monetary equivalent of Esperanto.

In recent years, the impetus for alternative currencies in established economies has stemmed in part from localization movements. Periodically ditching the dollar (or the pound, or the yen) in favor of homegrown currency doesn't merely fortify the local economy, it also builds community: people have a stake in their neighbor's well-being because that neighbor represents both market and supply chain. Some argue that such transactions are more secure than others because knowing the person you're dealing with (and his family and friends) serves as a kind of social collateral.

The use of Berkshares has helped to solidify local ties, says Susan Witt. "It's cash, so you have to pay your bills by walking into the store or dentist's office," she says. Local pride does have its challenges. In September, the town of Lewes in Sussex, England, issued the Lewes Pound — complete with a special edition beer from Harvey's, a local brewery, to celebrate the introduction. There was an immediate run on the currency, limiting its circulation; Lewes Pounds were going for 35 pounds sterling on eBay. The organizers quickly went back to press and dealt with the situation. As Susan Witt is the first to say, "local currencies are not easy."

Some are moved to create currencies for environmental reasons — minimizing the use of energy. With diminishing oil supplies "we will not be able to move goods around the world as cheaply," says Peter North. One strategy, he says, is to produce more locally, and one way to facilitate that is through local currency. This was one inspiration for the Lewes Pound, and for the Totnes Pound in Devon, England. Both towns are part of the Transition Town movement, which seeks creative, upbeat community-based approaches to dealing with climate change and diminished oil reserves.

Paper-money currencies, like Berkshares or the Lewes or Totnes Pound, slip fairly seamlessly into the national economy; their use is taxed like ordinary money. More abstract exchanges are a bit more complicated to deal with. But the tax concern is not insurmountable. "If you use local currency for your main income-generating activity, you must pay income tax," says Hensch, who consults in complementary currencies. Likewise, if you have a business, you'll pay sales tax on any local currency — in New Zealand, that would be Green Dollars, a LETS system — you bring in. But if you trade in "neighborhood help", like lawn-mowing, that would not be taxed.

The rules vary country to country. In the U.S. any business transaction must be recorded and reported to the IRS; tax levies apply as if the trade were made in cash. As Les Squires puts it, professional services are subject to income tax but for noncommercial transactions barter rules hold. "If I bake a cake for you, that's not a taxable event," he says.

Andrew K. Rose, Bernard T. Rocca Professor of International Trade at U.C. Berkeley's Haas School of Business, sees local currencies as limited by their unwieldiness. "Money is primarily just a convenience for enabling exchanges between two parties. The more widely accepted, the more convenient it is," he says. If you need to use different currencies in different locations, the money then becomes less convenient.

Do large financial institutions have anything to fear from the use of alternative currencies? Not at all, says Rose. "It's got to be so tiny. It has no effect at all," he says. Besides, he notes, the Fed doesn't care about currency, or even the number of bills circulating in the economy. "The Fed cares about monetary policy and [it] deal[s] with that in different ways."

Trend Expert Predicts Greece Style Riots in US

Frighteningly accurate trends forecaster Gerald Celente says that America will see riots similar to those currently ongoing in Greece and that the cause will be a hyper-inflationary depression, leading to the inevitable use of troops and mercenaries to deal with the crisis as Americans are incarcerated in internment camps.

Celente said that the troops now being brought back to America for “domestic security” would be used to suppress the riots.

As we have highlighted before, Celente’s accuracy is stunning - he predicted the 1987 crash, the sub-prime mortgage crisis and the “panic of 2008,” and is routinely cited even by mainstream news networks as highly credible.

The cause of the riots would be a hyper-inflationary depression, Celente told interviewer Lew Rockwell, causing Americans to revolt in similar circumstances that we have witnessed recently in Iceland and Greece. The trouble would be sparked off by Obama declaring a “bank holiday” whereby people won’t be able to withdraw their money.

“What’s going on in Greece with these riots has nothing to do with a 15-year-old boy being killed, that was only the spark that ignited the pent up, really hatred and disdain, people have for the scandals and corrupt government and the same thing is going on in this country as well,” said Celente.

Celente reiterated his prediction of a revolution and riots in America, and said that the first signs of it could even emerge before the end of the year.

Celente said that the troops now being brought back to America for “domestic security” would be used to suppress the riots.

“There’s talk of opening all these detention centers and hiring the goon squads, the Blackwaters to run them, so these are realities going on as we speak,” said Celente, adding that the Halliburton subsidiary KBR had been awarded a half a billion dollar contract to build “national emergency” internment camps in the name of detaining illegal immigrants but that they would be used to hold rioting Americans.

“We’re really in a period of ‘off with their heads’ and its going to be the people against the politicians,” said Celente.

Celente said that a breakup of the United States was possible and that the secessionist movement was strong.

“The government owns and runs the largest mortgage company, owns the largest insurance company, they’re going to be owning a piece of the oil industry, so it’s a fight against a totalitarian government…so there’s going to be rebellions and things will change for the better if we break up these criminal governments that are in place now,” said Celente.

The forecaster added that the government was killing people for a false reason in Iraq and robbing people blind with the bailouts at home.

2 neighborhoods consider printing own currency for exclusive use in local stores

They may be talking funny money, but it's not funny business.

Residents from the Milwaukee neighborhoods of Riverwest and East Side are scheduled to meet Wednesday to discuss printing their own money. The idea is that the local cash could be used at neighborhood stores and businesses, thus encouraging local spending. The result, supporters hope, would be a bustling local economy, even as the rest of the nation deals with a recession.

"You have all these people who have local currency, and they're going to spend it at local stores," said Sura Faraj, a community organizer who is helping spearhead the plan. "They can't spend it at the Wal-Mart or the Home Depot, but they can spend it at their local hardware store or their local grocery store."

Incentives could be used to entice consumers into using the new money. For example, perhaps they could trade $100 U.S. for $110 local, essentially netting them a 10 percent discount at participating stores.
